Fly fishing in the Grande Creek: Discover the Andes

Is the perfect river for beginners, it has all the different types of pools and rapids. During the fishing day you can fish with nymphs and also with dry flies. Big trout of 3 pounds have been caught here and per journey we usually catch a few of 2 pounds.

Location: Tunuyan, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina

Estimated time of departure: to be agreed with passengers, depending on the season.

Estimated duration of activity: 1 hour and 40 minutes of driving each way, plus the fishing time.

Best time to go: from September to December and from March to May.

Recommended equipment: 3 weight rod and floating line, 7 feet leader and 4 X tippet..

Flies: stoneflies, may flies, prince, zug bug, Montana, elk hair caddis, stimulator, hoppers.

Type of trout: rainbows and brooks.

Average size: 1 to 2 pounds.

Physical condition

Sedentary: person with lack of training or walks gently one or two times a week.
