Maipo Volcano (17,450 fasl)

This volcano is situated in the central-west area of Mendoza, on the border with Chile.
Its attractive shape is reflected on the Laguna del Diamante waters, today considered an ecological reserve.
To reach its base it is necessary to cross a mountain chain covered in snow until the middle of the summer. For this reason the season for climbing this mountain is short.
The effort in climbing this volcano is constantly rewarded as you climb up. The view of the lagoon and its surrounding area is quite spectacular from the volcano.
